Melbourne is famous for its laneways filled with shops and cafes, tucked away between the bustling main streets. Join a local guide as they help you navigate the best laneways as well as historic arcades and subterranean shops. Rather than gazing longingly in the window as you pass by, we’ll give you time to shop as we go. We’ll also make sure you get to taste some local confectionery at our favourite lolly shop where you can purchase old favourites as well as Melbourne-themed sweets.
This three hour walking tour will start at Brunetti café in Flinders Lane and take in arcades such as the famous Block Arcade as well as smaller, lesser known areas. If you have something special you’re hoping to see or find, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to include it in our tour. Whilst our flexible itinerary will focus on shops that stock locally sourced products, including jewellery, homewares, souvenirs, clothing, indigenous products and confectionery, you will have enough freedom to explore other nearby shops as well.
The tour has been planned to cater for a variety of budgets, so whether you're after a one-off piece of designer jewellery or some fun gifts to take home for friends, you'll find something suitable.
Between shops you will visit some of Melbourne’s best laneway art, find some great new places to eat and learn about some major landmarks.
